Over in Goderich Ontario number 178, the Paulina, rests at the station by the lake shore. This GP9 has developed a somewhat different look than most. There are no class lights over the front windows but there is what might have been a bracket for a bell. There is a large amber light on the cab roof reflecting more American practices. The headlights are low and the ditch lights are large and prominent hung over a modern snowplow. I don’t see any spark arrestors so I expect they were never installed. Note the reflective tape on the frame.
I run my own railroad but I follow CN practices as close as possible given what I have to work with in 1/29th scale. If you operate a fantasy railway, these ‘chop nosed’ GP9 photos show how much can be done to personalize your fleet and still keep it real.
