This is interesting. Algoma Central power is not seen as often as it should be and they had their own way of doing things. The photo may show the operator looking down ‘the long end’ but from time to time switching chores just had to be done that way. Algoma Central ran all their geeps short end forward as the horn and bell on number 150 will testify.
The high mounted bell is similar to the design used on CN cab units and it sits up there next to a typical K3H set of trumpets and a standard radio antenna. The winterization hatch over the rear fan has a bit of a boxy, home made look to it when comparing it to the more rounded CN application. That’s something that could make a modelling project easy as well. Great classic paint scheme eh?
