WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY

Every once and a while we’re reminded that this is CP Rails transcontinental main line.  A single General Electric AC4400CW is routinely assigned to container trains heading east into the Fraser Canyon and beyond.  The freight-hauling railway abandons the right-of-way during the morning and evening rush hours.   What would West Coast railroading be without the Fraser and log booms on the riverbank.

You don’t see much of that modelled on ‘modern era’ railroads.  It’s a shame really.  On this particular day the loggers were walking out on the booms with lone poles just as they did 100 years ago.  See you can get away with modelling anything.
