The CN/VIA station in Belleville is just a stop along the way in the busiest passenger train arena in Canada. In 1986 the LRC was both state of the art and unbelievably homely. Even worse when it was coupled to a conventional train of coaches - as was more often the case than not. Here we see boxy looking 6917 followed by an even more rectangular steam generator car. Seriously, where else would you ever see that?
And you don’t see a lot of that train being modelled even by the very best of them. The LRC is on the market in HO scale but who would buy only the engine and then use it in general passenger service? Well, I would, but I model real life at least as closely as I am able. You know, that small station platform is 12 to 14 cars long. Who would model that and still have room for a layout? Some of us count rivets but in reality…..
