In and around Moose Jaw in the ‘70’s

Throughout the 1970’s Packmanland in Saskatchewan pretty much centered itself under the clock tower at the foot of Main Street in Moose Jaw. Yes, there was a lot going on in Regina and the main line was close enough to Taylor Field that I could look over the side of the upper deck and see west-bounds crawl out of town below us. But still, the real every day action was in Moose Jaw.

And of course CPRail in the West was all SD40-2 during that period and a trip around behind the1922 station would prove that beyond a doubt. Coupled, and serviced it seemed, in threes, the 3000 HP machines moved everything, every where, between the lake head and the Pacific. A very typical set is lined up on the ready track below. Easy to model, except for those overhead wires?
