Ok. Not a great picture but it provides an interesting profile. The GP9 is fitted out with typical Canadian accoutrements; high bell, forward horns and a winterization hatch but also boasts air tanks on the roof. These ‘torpedoes’ are rare north of the US/Canada border. The 1605 and her sisters will pick up CN’s Eastbound out of Hearst and take it from Kap into Cochrane and down to North Bay. When this photo was taken the Ontario Northland was undergoing a big change in paint schemes and this look was becoming pretty old pretty fast.
