We had inquired about eastbound traffic (The early morning sun was behind us) while in Wainwright and so we knew we had at least 40 minutes to organize ourselves. It was a good time to get away from the gravel parking area check out a few good spots to set up a camera.
As a scenery fan as well as a CN fan I was also taking notes on the colour of the trestle. It ain’t black folks. Far from it. It’s really many colours. From dusty charcoal to a dull red/yellow. Apart from the seasons last green it actually blends into the fall surroundings quite well. The rolling fields are “Woodland Scenics” burned grass in the high areas and mixed with a darker brown in the low areas. All of the trees, Poplar for the most part, find a home where a little water might collect.
