Machine Shop at Carberry

Carberry Manitoba lost its railway station some time ago but it remains on the subdivision index for both CP main line service and a CN branch line. Oddly, only the CN list refers to the town of Carberry itself. You may remember the Proto-file photo at http://wvrr.ca/prototype/Ja n u ary2.JPG was taken looking west while standing on the diamonds.
Just across the street from where the CPR station sat is this old machine shop. Initially built as a blacksmith shop next to the livery stable, it’s now abandoned with doors and windows open to the elements. You’ll note all the wheels and other scattered bits of machinery sitting outside. What a great place to show off your collection of detail parts. I loved the weathered wooden siding, the white windows, and the tall grasses growing up all around.
