Daylight in Didsbury and another sixteen to twenty fast, heavy trains begin parading over Canadian Pacific’s Deer Subdivision wherea half dozen busy, downtown streets cross the tracks. They’re so close together that engineers signal = = 0 = before the first intersection and then make do with two or three more ‘innovative’ blasts at the other crossings. This strange, oddly broken tune continues day and night.
Fortunately the station at Didsbury Alberta was preserved even after the last of the grain elevators were removed. It was moved a few feet away from the main line (and closer to the main street) and turned 180 degrees on its foundation to better suit the community situation. It now serves as the offices of the local CofC as well as a seniors meeting room. Nice job folks.
