WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY

Perhaps these modern engines can run for hours and hours, miles and miles, but that crew is human - and union as well. Watrous is a crew change facility on CN’s main line between Winnipeg and Saskatoon and during the mid 70’s it retained the classic look of a typical prairie town. Back then it boasted a beautiful old Grand Trunk Pacific station and a line of grain elevators.

Some things don’t change. Canadian National still earns a higher percentage of it’s over all revenue through the movement of ‘less that car load’ freight than any other North American railroad. Good think too because while the ‘unit train’ of grain, coal or chemicals is here to stay there’s nothing more satisfying for a modeller than making up a train of different, one of a kind cars.

Just a quick ref to my all time favourate source for station information….
