Back on the CN main line the modern elevator story is pretty much the same. In this case, concrete is the material of choice and the tower has somehow lost most of its nostalgic qualities. It’s all business now. The principle is the same but the elevator and conveyer machinery is now out in the open and brightly painted in company colours. Farther down the track there are much smaller, farmer owned loading facilities consisting of nothing more than a dry Quonset style building and a portable auger. Whatever works.
