WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY

So, how cold was it?

Ok. This month I used four of my old ‘wintery’ photos. They even surprised me a little. How could I have though it was great fun scraping the frost off a frozen car and then travelling miles over icy roads just to stand around outside, sometimes at 30 below, and take train pictures? But it was fun and Timmy’s was always near by with hot chocolate.

CN 55134 and her companion, caboose 78858, worked the line between Hearst ON in the west and Cochrane in the eastwith no regard for the weather. This track always stayed open because once the ground froze it was capable of handling much heavier traffic. A pair like this is readily available in most scales, as is the iconic 40-foot steel boxcar. Just set them on a little used siding and wait for November.
