WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY

If there ever was a little house on the prairie then this had to be it. The only building left standing in Winter Saskatchewan shows both the ravages of time and a family’s hope for the future. The simple, two room, slant roof structure held a bedroom and a kitchen/family room that still has the children’s artwork on the baseboards. The mud room extension on the front kept out the worst of the dirt in summer and the worst of the cold in the winter. The obvious addition on the right supported a growing family.

Not an architectural treasure but easy to add to the layout. It could be a house or a small business. Or perhaps a railway building next to the sand tower and the water tank.
