WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY
HOME
GALLERY

During the late seventies and early eighties Moose Jaw, SK, was the home to only one kind of engine. In only one colour. And main line traffic through town saw hundreds of those same engines. In the same colour. So nothing says you can’t just buy a fleet SD40-2’s right of off the shelf and run them to death. CPRail did. Variety? Some were clean and some were not.

And they worked hard for a living too. The grade at the eastern yard limits was a challenge and it required more horsepower to get the train moving – and then up that hill – than on all the rest of the Indian Head Sub.

Darn, I really loved that car!
