WINTER VALLEY REGIONAL RAILWAY

And how often are the newest additions to our scene overlooked in our search for the past? The old water tank at Carberry Manitoba is still as clean and bright as the day it was built to service main line CPR steam engines running between Brandon and Winnipeg. The station is long gone but the gardens that were tended so faithfully by the agent have grown into a public park. Those neat little rust coloured tool sheds are a part of the past while the familiar Atco buildings are an ever-present part of the present. The yellow work trucks are a big part of today but the speeder trailers somehow remind us of yesterday.

There are over 80 years of story here if you’re just willing to look for it. We can’t simply focus our attentions on that one special year that we’re modelling. Or even ten years. History has a tendency to collect all around us.
